Frequently Asked Questions

Is axe throwing safe?

Safety is our number one priority. We have taken every step to make axe throwing as safe as it can be. we operate in a controlled environment and run all of our guests through a training session before we ever hand them an axe. If any throwers are not following the rules, we reserve the right to ask that guest to leave without refund.

Is there an age limit?

There is no minimum or maximum age to throw axes. As long as you can pick it up and throw it, we allow it.

What if I cant throw an axe?

Then you're in luck! We have a team of trainers who are willing to work with you to get you throwing like a (semi)pro.
If your issue is more physical than technique, we also have throwing stars to make sure everyone has a chance to throw.

What should I wear?

We recommend wearing closed-toed shoes and removing any rings from your throwing hand. Otherwise, dress comfy.

How many people can participate?

As many as you can bring! As a general rule, we don't put more than four people in one lane. More people means more lanes, and for larger parties we strongly recommend making a reservation so we can ensure there is room for all of you.

Do you allow spectators?

We have no issue with people wanting to watch rather than throw, but anybody stepping into the throwing lanes will be required to fill out a waiver.

Do I have to make a reservation?

We recommend making a reservation to ensure that we have a lane ready for you at the time you want to start throwing, but walk-ins are accepted as long as we have room!

Will I be paired with strangers?

As opposed to most other axe-throwing locations, we designed our lanes for one thrower at a time rather than two. That means that even if you show up alone, you won't be grouped up with other random people.

Are there competitions?

Enid axe currently is not running any leagues or regular tournaments, but follow our Facebook and Instagram for any updates about future competitions.

Can I bring my own axe?

You are welcome to bring in your own hatchet for throwing, so long as you allow the experts to Enid Axe to inspect it prior to use.
Currently, our facilities are only designed for hatchet throwing, so big axes will have to stay home.

Do you allow other objects to be thrown?

Enid axe provides multiple types of axes and throwing stars, with knives available for rent as well. Any throwable objects brought in by guests are subject to inspection and approval of Enid Axe staff.

Can I bring in my own target?

Paper outline targets or "trick shot" targets such as playing cards are allowed. Due to laws and the current world climate, no pictured or drawing of real people are allowed.

Can I drink while I throw?

Guests are allowed to drink both beer and mixed drinks from Mixology while throwing axes. Guests showing obvious signs of inebriation may be asked to stop throwing or prevented from purchasing a session.
